Going to the store is now equated to a military operation. Experts have made recommendations on how to dress when going for groceries, how to choose these very products and what must be done with them upon coming home. Many people stopped buying ready-made food – cooking – for fear of infection. And this is reasonable, because a salad bought by weight cannot be wiped with a sanitizer, you cannot wash it with soap. But what to do with Easter cakes? Many people prefer to buy them, not to bake them.
The experts’ position on this issue is unambiguous: well, we buy bread anyway. So it is not forbidden to carry cakes home. Just buy them in trusted places, never in questionable shops or bakeries.
“Give preference to packaged products, especially if you plan to use them without heat treatment,” advises Rospotrebnadzor.
So it is better to choose Easter cakes in their original packaging. You can rinse it and wipe it with a disinfectant napkin.
How to consecrate?
There are difficulties with this question this year. As the rector of the Church of the All-Merciful Savior in Mitino Grigory Geronimus explained to Wday.ru, it is better not to go to church.
“Usually we always urge you to come to church and receive communion, but now there is another blessing: stay at home,” the priest says.
For those for whom it is still important to thoroughly observe the traditions, there is an opportunity to carry out the ceremony themselves: sprinkle cakes and other Easter dishes with holy water, which will be brought to your home.
