Night terror is common and it is a mild disorder. Nevertheless, it can be distressing for parents, especially when they know that they should not intervene, but remain idle in front of the terror of their child.

Be careful to give our children the hours of sleep they need and for that, avoiding screens at night is a good idea!

In cases where what is observed in children does not seem typical, or if it lasts abnormally long, it is better to consult a specialist, because there are also nocturnal epilepsies which are very different, but can sometimes present some characteristics with night terrors. Likewise, some children may present with sleep apnea that may be involved.
